A large group from Saint Vincent’s traveled to Santo 17 on May 18 to celebrate Haitian Flag Day. Along with volunteers from Association Haiti Plantes, the group planted nearly 100 saplings around the property! Among the varieties planted were lemon, mango, tamarind, mapou and moringa. When mature, these trees will provide much-needed shade, soil stabilization, and fruit for harvest.

This was a tremendous effort, and everyone was proud to do their part to improve the area around the new school. It also meant a great deal to celebrate Flag Day by participating in one of the many reforestation efforts taking place around the country.

Many thanks to all who helped this happen!
